Announcement of Private Candidates' Registration Exercise  

  • Keep a lookout for the announcement on SEAB website, usually around early March.  
       - Refer to tentative dates.

 




Check Eligibility and Guidelines 

  • Refer to this page for the eligibility criteria for each examination level (e.g. minimum age requirements, number of registrable subjects).
  • You will also find the registration guidelines. Read this before registering for the examinations.





Create your Candidates Portal Account
  • For Singpass holders
       - You must register for the examination with your Singpass credentials in SEAB's Candidates Portal (CP).
       - Refer to the CP's guide for Singpass users for the steps to register for the examinations.
  • For non-Singpass holders
       - Please create an account in Candidates Portal. Refer to the CP's guide for non-Singpass users for the steps to create an account and register for the examinations.




Register for the Examinations via CP 
  • Log in to the CP with your login details.  
  • Click on 'Applying for Exams' and select the option 'GCE-Level Examination(s)' under the dropdown list.
  • Read the registration instructions displayed after which, click 'Start a new Registration' to commence registration.
  • Follow the steps in examination registration guide to complete your registration.


Issuance of entry proof via CP
  • All successfully registered candidates will receive a personalised entry proof for the Mid-Year and Year-End examinations in the CP. Check Important Dates for the dates on which your entry proof would be ready.
  • The entry proof will indicate your examination dates, timings and examination centres of the subjects that have been successfully registered.
  • You will receive an email notification from CP, informing you to download the entry proof via the CP.
       - Check your Spam/Junk mailbox for the email if you are unable to locate the notification in your inbox by the stipulated dates.


Before you sit for the examinations
  • Refer to the examination rules and regulations document and ensure you read the instructions carefully.











On the day of your examinations

  • Report for your examinations based on the examination schedule and assigned examination venue on your entry proof. 
  • Bring along the necessary documents for verification at the examination:
       - Your photo-identification document (e.g. NRIC or Passport or Printed Copy of Digital Student Pass) bearing the identification number as stated on the Entry Proof
       - A hardcopy of the entry proof
       - A copy of the approved Access Arrangement (if applicable)

Announcement of Results Release Date  

  • Keep a lookout for the announcement through the media, few days before the actual results release date: 
       • Refer to tentative dates of results release.

 

 

 

On Day of Results Release

  • Please login to Candidates Portal (CP) to view your results.
  • Hardcopy examination results will be mailed to you on the day of results release to the address provided to SEAB.
       - Receive examination certificate within one month from results release date if you are awarded a grade for at least one subject.
  • There is no result slip issued for the GCE O- / A-Level Mid-Year Mother Tongue Language (MTL) examinations as some candidates may retake their examinations at the Year-End examination. The better MTL grade will be reflected in the examination certificate issued when the Year-End results are released.
  • Withdrawn candidates will not receive any results or examination certificates for any subjects or components that they have sat for. If examination results, such as the Mid-Year examination results, have already been released, the results will be invalidated.
  • You can refer to this webpage if you would like make amendments to your certificate.
  • Any examination certificate that is not delivered successfully will be returned to SEAB. Certificates will be destroyed if they are not claimed within one year from the year of examination, and no replacement will be made available.




Appeal to Review Results

  • You may apply to review your examination results if you feel that the grade you have obtained does not accurately reflect your achievement in the subject.
  • Submit your request through the CP.
  • An appeal fee will be charged for each subject. 
  • You must submit your appeal no later than five working days from the date of results release. The payment also needs to be made during the application, via the e-payment modes offered on the portal.  
  • Your appeal application will only be processed if the application and payment were received before the deadline
  • The appeal outcome will be emailed to your registered email address within six weeks after the appeal deadline.
  • Should an appeal result in a change in examination results, the examination results will be adjusted accordingly.
  • While waiting for your appeal outcome to be released, you should continue applying to your selected schools, and we will contact you to facilitate any changes, if necessary.
